My finances weren't doing so well these past 3 years. And I was almost in the verge of filing bankruptcy. But then, a professional advised me not to do so because of the huge impact it will leave in my credit report. He gave the option of debt consolidation which I thought, at first, was a bigger problem. But he enumerated the advantage of it against bankruptcy. And said that the latter shall be done as a last resort. So I followed his advice and now, I'm doing great. Been very careful with my finances now so this event doesn't happen again.
